A rose for Emily is a short story which shows us how the impacts of society and the impressions of a strict father can be determinent on a young girl’s growth. To make comments on the story, I can make a point of why doesn’t she want to give her father’s breathless body to the authorized people by indicating that it can be an angry reaction to her father as a result of his insensivity to his daughter’s social development. At the end of the story Emily’s behaviour may be explained as a result of her lack of self-confidence on her relationships with men to does not allow him to run away from her.

When you say that her not giving her father’s dead body over to the authorities is an angry reaction to… what do you mean exactly- why would his behaviour and his strictness towards her make her not give his body up? Remember that the most important thing is not what you argue but how you argue it, how you support what you argue.
