the article is about how the detrimental effects of television addiction can be commanding on family relations. Even Marie Winn is justifiable with her supporting ideas, im not totally agree with her. When i was reading the article, i thougt that she was exaggerated a little bit. If family members have strong characters, these effects become inconsiderable. If a mother turns the tv’s volume up, it is her fault. Nobody can put the blame on television in this case. People are in habit of giving excuses for their deficiencies. If someone wants to have close relationships with the other members of the family, there can be no excuses like television.

Maybe you are right but what if not everybody can control their behaviour and the television is like a drug for them? Actually that sounds like a poor defense but suppose some people may fall into such a category?
