In today’s world, everybody is interrelated to media at various interest levels. Due to my habits, the relationship between media and me isn’t so intimate. I generally watch sporting events and some of comedy series like Avrupa Yakası which is a famous Turkish program. The news that are shown on television make me bored because in Turkish newscasts they generally show the same video recordings one after another. For example, ten days before an Iranian journalist darted his shoes towards George Bush. In Turkish channels i watched this throwing maybe for twenty times and it really annoyed me. For this reason, i get the news from internet. I find it more direct than tv news. Needless to say that the media isn’t only consisting of television. For example, periodicals are another alternative which i follow up orderly.Other than this, media brings forth some debates like truthfulness, morality, exploitation etc. in some degree in every country. If i compare Turkey and other international media, i don’t see plenty differences . Media incorporations are controlled by media barons such as Aydın Doğan in Turkey, Silvio Berlusconi in Italy, Rupert Murdoch in all over the world. Although they say that they are independent, i don’t believe that they can be pellucid under the shade of enormous investments. If i compare program types, still there are no differences. Reality shows covered completely the televisions even if the social group’s profiles are different. The biggest difference between Turkish and other international media is the time lengths of series. In Turkey, the duration of series is about two hours while it is half an hour in other countries. It must be cut in Turkey because people are integrated them and they don’t care about the world at the outside.

ı want to talk about an italian film which is called la finestra di fronte by gabriele muccino. The film treats of a nuclear italian family which is consisted of middle aged parents and two children in juvenile age. In this film, ı realize that how mislaid youthful hopes may cause conflicts in mature people’s latter life. Carlo, family head, works for a company who wanted to become a romantic author in his youthful days. Giulia, Carlo’s wife, is a literature professor who dreamt to become an actress in her flower of life. Their wishes don’t come up until Carlo met his calf love and Giulia fell in love with a stage director. Their impatience to each other grew increasingly. The strange point is that the children behave incurious to their parent’s problems because they could’t find their identities yet. Valentina,18, wants to become a showgirl at any cost and Paolo(19) wants to become confident and cool on girl’sfavour. Even Carlo wants to get divorced, Giulia shows obstinacy to maintain the family. After Carlo meet with an accident, the family come together even Carlo and Giulia don’t fall in love with each other. Their feelings must be bottled up again…
